Layered Architecture

Sensor Mesh

Distributed telemetry collection across the enterprise surface. Host, network, and identity signal is captured at source and normalized into a common event model.

L2 — GATEWAY

Authenticated Intake

Every sensor is cryptographically identified. Events are signature-verified and replay-protected before they are permitted to influence a single downstream decision.

L3 — CORE

Behavioral Correlation

The reasoning layer. Actor, system, and adversary are modeled as evolving behavioral signatures rather than static indicators. This is where AVERY reasons about intent.

Autonomous Response

Findings drive response within the sub-second design window. Human review is the exception, reserved for the ambiguous edge rather than the routine decision.

Continuous Loop

Every outcome feeds back into the model. Signatures do not decay into staleness; the system is designed to remain current against an adversary that is also adapting.

The Difference

— Why AVERY Is Not Another SOC

Most platforms ask what happened. AVERY asks who is doing it, and why now.

Conventional security tooling chases indicators. Indicators are downstream of intent. By the time the indicator fires, the adversary has already moved.

AVERY models the operator, the system, and the adversary as continuously evolving signatures. The signal is the gap between what a signature should look like and what it does next.

Built for the Adversary Level

— Design Target: APT-Grade

Most detection is tuned for the commodity threat and bolts on sophistication after the fact. AVERY inverts that. APT-grade adversaries were the design target from the first architectural decision, not a capability added once the product shipped.

In institutional and mission environments where insider-threat monitoring is mandated, the privacy calculus is not the commercial enterprise calculus. Continuous behavioral observation is an operational requirement, and the platform is designed for that posture rather than retrofitted to it.

The collection infrastructure underlying the platform has produced original, published threat intelligence, including the documentation of a previously uncatalogued botnet SSH backdoor key submitted to the Shadowserver Foundation and CISA ICS-CERT through responsible disclosure.
